Vrina is a wonderful village with a miraculous view at the foot of Smerna mountain. It
is 3 km South from Krestena and it has 501 inhabitants.
SIGHTS
LAPITHAS is an all green
mountain covered with a rare species of pine tree and a beautiful view of
the Ionion sea. There is a nice path (for
hiking lovers ) to the church of the Virgin Mary of Smerna on the top of the mountain.
THE ENTRANCE TO THE CAVE
which was discovered in the year 2000 with a rich
stalactite decor and a special scientific interest and needs further
exploration.
THE ANALIMMATIC WALL with
the two tombs from the Hellenistic Age in the "Dafni" area where skeletons
and an amphora were found.
THE SQUARE OF THE VILLAGE
with the magnificant church of St. Ioannis (built
in 1871), with the huge refreshing maple trees,
the picturesque coffee houses and its enchanting view to the Ionion sea.
