TRIPITI

This is the most isolated and furthest east village of the Municipality prefecture. It is 20 km away from Krestena and has 587 residents.

SIGHTS

THE GREAT ISOBA'S MONASTERY, which was built in about 1225 in the time  of the  French occupation by Kistersian monks of   Clerbo. It was burnt in 1263 by a Byzantine army of Turkish missionaries. It is a beautiful gothic catholic church, 42,25x17,25m in size, devoted to the Holy Virgin. The north and the west side of the temple are still  in very good condition.

THE RUINS OF THE ST. NICOLAOS CHURCH A basilic church of three parts , which was built in 1272 and located next to the Isoba's Monastery.

THE RUINS OF THE AKROPOLIS. They are on a hill close to the village and they identify with the ancient "Ipana" (which Strabon and Polibios report). That is because  coins with the inscription  «ANCIENT IPANON» were found there. They are exhibited at the Archaeological  Museum in Olympia.

THE TURKISH MILL. This mill has an Islamic inscription on its front .

THE WONDERFUL TSEBEROULA'S GORGE. It has rich vegetation and an old bridge, suitable for fun and action  in the countryside .
